LaRussell is an independent artist peaking out of the small town of Vallejo, California. He is known for the machine behind his brand, his genius creative ways of collaborating, and his philanthropist style of giving back with “pay what you can,” opportunities for his fans. He debuted his EP CLARITY early May and left the impression that he does not plan on slowing down anytime soon. I think the rawness and authenticity he expressed in the album titled single gave us all inspiration and confirmation that those rough times proved to be worth it, and with all the realizations we’ve encountered, now is the time to know your worth and to go after what you love. This is why we’ve added, “Clarity,” to our “Tribe, Vibe, & Unwind,” playlist curated exclusively on TIDAL.

Tribe, Vibe, & Unwind was a sacral chakra and solar plexus mesh-up geared to get us out of lethargic ruts and pushed closer to our passions and purpose. LaRussell does an amazing job at recognizing why his not so easy past was necessary for his bright and abundant future with the opening line:

“Look at me now, they wouldn’t look at me,

they bookin’ me now,

they took the bait,

got em’ hooked to me now.”

I think this is very solar plexus of him to mention as it shows true introspection and how every situation, even rejection always plays out for your greater good. The thing we love about LaRusell is, even though he could be arrogant, he chooses not to be as he mentioned trying to:

“I’m still finding myself,

still frontin’ still denying the help,

still searching for what’s missing in me and everyone else -

I’m just being honest, you should try it sometimes…”

This is a perfect simile of just how much we are mirrors of one another. When we allow ourselves to understand that even the things we do not desire are are mere refections of our fears, we’re able to transmute and tap into a motivation and inspiration that is self-provoked vs outwardly inspired.

One of the beautiful things about having the sacral and the solar plexus chakras open and healthy is the balance it creates within our everyday lives. It creates a healthy avenue of engaging in our creative and pleasurable passions and taking action with discipline and prioritized responsibilities. LaRussell creates that balance with the lines:

“Grateful for the blessings , grateful for the lessons

Grateful for the clarity to see that they’re connected;

Grateful for the stressings, all the second guesses,

Grateful for lucidity to know that they’re connected.”

He goes on to say, “I’ve been through the rain, I’ll never be the same again…”

This is beautiful representation of what true transformation looks likes. Once you’ve really been through that one experience that allows you to see clearly, it’s impossible to see things any other way. We’re thanking God and the Universe for providing all the clarity we need as we transition out of Spring Equinox and into Summer Solstice. What a timely drop from a newfound legend.
